Semi-Monthly vs. Bi-Weekly: What Is the Difference?
These two pay schedules sound similar but work differently. Semi-monthly means you are paid twice per month on fixed calendar dates, giving you exactly 24 paychecks per year. Bi-weekly means you are paid every two weeks, which gives you 26 paychecks per year. Two months each year you receive 3 paychecks on a bi-weekly schedule.

How Pre-Tax Deductions Affect Your Paycheck
Pre-tax deductions reduce your taxable income before federal and state tax are calculated.
